American Faces, DELIGHTED TO BE OUT.

Snapshots of the gang mingling about the city. Pictured above are Debbie at the flower stand, Emily in a red van, Denny atop the Wall Street Journal and our special guests Pat 'n Gigi dangling lovingly from some uptown scaffolding.

Informational Guide

Pictured Above: sample page of the AFIG. A copy is waiting for you at Caffetto.

The American Face Informational Guide contains sixteen pages, thirteen heavily embellished images of local faces, a comprehensive list of drop-off points for the project and of course, the American Face Story:

"American Face began in the Fall of 2007. This collaborative project consists of eleven different faces, totaling 157 face sized pillows.
Introducing: Emily, Anna, Magic, Dog, Gramps, Greg, Jessie, Robyne, Tiffany, Denny and Debbie. (With a special guest appearance by Pat 'n Gigi!)

These people exist in Minneapolis, in human form. Maybe you know them!

Editions of each face were screen printed and later sewn into a pillow. All of the illustrations were rendered skillfully by the head of the drawing division and the pillow construction was taken care of by a robot. We really enjoyed using puffy paints, foil transfer, rhinestones (and the like) to make the gang shiny and bright. The master plan was to make many huge piles of pillows and disperse them throughout the city. One-hundred pillows were released into the public between January 18th-31st. The one-hundred pillows in circulation are meant for you to keep, but they are also invitations to participate in the American Face Art Show.

We have already set up a cozy welcoming committee at Caffetto to greet your found American Faces! The entire crew is hanging out and nearly crawling up the walls with anticipation.

Grab you face and come on over, we hope to see you there!
Please don't forget to come back on February 29th to reclaim your contribution to the show. More details about the closing event will be posted at a later time.

We would like to offer a special thanks to Collaboration Thursday and Project Life for their ongoing support of American Face."

DON'T FORGET ABOUT YOUR FACE! WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT SOON.
Love,
American Face
